Matt Kelleher Lecture, Workshop and Demonstrations
The Association of Ceramic Enthusiasts hosts a series of events with artist Matt Kelleher. Students are invited to all events:
- Thursday, Nov. 17 - Workshop and Demonstration, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m., Ceramics Building at 326 Eastern Ave.
- Thursday, Nov. 17 - Artist Lecture, 5:30-6:30 p.m., Hillside Auditorium Room 206
- Friday, Nov. 18 - Studio visits and critiques with students, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m., Ceramics Building at 326 Eastern ave.
Kelleher recently joined the ceramic faculty at Alfred University after a decade of working as a studio potter in the mountains of western North Carolina. Kelleher has participated in residencies at Penland School of Crafts, the Archie Bray Foundation, and Shigaraki Ceramic Cultural Park in Shigaraki, Japan. As he continues to investigate soda-fired tableware, his studio practice now includes larger sculptural ideas. His professional studio career spans over an impressive fifteen years and he has shown work in over two hundred exhibitions. View his work and learn more about him at www.mattkelleher.com.
