A Celebration of the Sacred Hymns: Old Wine in New Wineskins

In its premiere campus performance for the 2016-17 season, the University of Arkansas Inspirational Chorale, will be in concert at 7:30 p.m. this Thursday, Oct. 27, in the Jim and Joyce Faulkner Performing Arts Center.

The concert, titled "A Celebration of the Sacred Hymns: Old Wine in New Wineskins," will walk the audience through the history of the hymn, dating back to Martin Luther and John Calvin, and will explore the hymn's development through the centuries, and, specifically, the ways in which it has evolved in the Black Church.

The 60-voice chorale has been preparing a wide range of music, from traditional hymns in their original forms, to soul-stirring gospel arrangements. This diverse concert will also provide opportunities for audience participation through corporate singing.

Tickets are available now! General admission is $10 for adults and $5 students/seniors, available at the Faulkner Performing Arts Center Box Office by calling (479) 575- 5387, or online at goo.gl/VhWUOJ. The Inspirational Chorale is under the direction of Jeffrey Allen Murdock.
