U of A United Way Campaign Team Hopes Those Cards Keep Coming In
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The fall leaves are turning bright colors in Northwest Arkansas – almost like a reminder about the U of A United Way campaign and the opportunity to Paint Their Future Bright – Child by Child.
Who’s future?
The more than 27,000 children in Northwest Arkansas who live in poverty.
So far U of A faculty and staff have donated more than $75,000 that will go to the United Way of Northwest Arkansas to support the local agencies and programs that help lift these children toward a brighter future.
“We want to thank everyone who has made a donation and helped us get to this point,” said Kim Needy, co-chair of the campaign. “Our goal for the campaign is $170,000 – so we need many more people to make a contribution if we are going to really help these children, and our community.”
There are many ways to contribute, either with a donation card or online. One of the easiest is through a payroll deduction, which has always been a popular way to give. Payroll deductions have to be renewed each year, however, either online or with the donor card.
“We’ll be holding another drawing for a $100 gift card on Friday, so however you contribute, that’s one more reason to turn in your donor card today,” said Jacque Linebarger, the campaign coordinator.
