U of A Offers New Training Series on Intellectual Property Law

ROGERS, Ark. – A four-session course on Intellectual Property for Managers and Entrepreneurs will be offered on Wednesdays from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. beginning Oct. 26. These sessions will be held at the Global Campus building, located at 3300 Market St. in Rogers, and instructed by Janelle Waack, registered patent attorney and intellectual property partner with Bass, Berry & Sims, PLC. The course is offered in association with the World Trade Center Arkansas. Register online.

The $199 course price includes all four sessions. A 10 percent discount is available to U of A faculty, staff and current students. Group discounts are also available. Topics covered will include identifying protectable intellectual property, understanding the general framework of intellectual property laws, using contracts and other strategies to maintain control over usage and ownership of ideas, and industry-specific strategies and trends for protecting intellectual property.
