UAPD Hosting Emergency Training Exercise on Monday

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The University of Arkansas Police Department will host a full-scale training exercise on campus from 9 a.m. to about 4 p.m. Monday, Oct. 17.

The exercise will take place primarily in two areas of the campus and involve emergency first responder agencies from the U of A, Washington County and the city of Fayetteville. There will be many emergency vehicles involved in the exercise, operating as if this were a real-life situation.

Oct. 17 is the first day of Fall Break, so most students will be away from campus, but faculty and staff will probably notice the activity and should be aware that it is only an exercise.

The training is planned to test the abilities of each agency to respond to a crisis occurring on campus and work together to resolve the situation.
