Alumni Association Announces Homecoming 2016 Schedule

University of Arkansas Homecoming presented by the Arkansas Alumni Association begins this week with events running Tuesday through Saturday.

The Homecoming 2016 theme is Home on the Hill, and the goal of this theme is to remind alumni and students that even when they leave Fayetteville, they are always welcomed home with open arms. The Homecoming Steering Committee of the Student Alumni Board has been working since January to develop the format for this year's Homecoming. For more information about Homecoming, visit homecoming.uark.edu.

The schedule includes:

Tuesday, Oct. 11

  • Philanthropy Day – The Arkansas Alumni Association and the University of Arkansas community has a tradition of giving back during the annual Homecoming Celebration. This year, we're partnering with the Center for Community Engagement's Volunteer Action Center to give back during the "Fill the Truck" Homecoming Food Drive. Supporters will also be shown appreciation Tuesday during Thank-A-Donor day in the Union Mall. People can collect donations and bring them to the campus wide drop off from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 11 in the Union Mall. About 40 donation boxes are also located throughout campus, and donors are encouraged to give items at these drop-off boxes throughout Homecoming week. For more information about the Jane B. Gearhart Full Circle Food Pantry, call 479-575-7793 or email pantry@uark.edu.
