Chancellor Steinmetz speaks during Spring Commencement

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – University of Arkansas Chancellor Joseph E. Steinmetz will be  formally vested with the symbols and ornaments of his position during a formal investiture ceremony at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20 in the Faulkner Center for  Performing Arts.

The entire campus community is invited to attend this traditional academic ceremony, generally held within the first year of a president or chancellor’s tenure. Seating in the Faulkner Center is limited to 585 people, but the event will also be available through live streaming.

Special guests will include UA System President Donald R. Bobbitt and keynote speaker Gordon Gee, president of West Virginia University.

At the ceremony, Chancellor Steinmetz will provide details about the recently announced Eight Guiding Priorities for the University of Arkansas.
