Fulbright College Hosts Free Regional NEH Proposal-Writing Workshop

The J. William Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences and the Humanities Program at the University of Arkansas will host a Regional Proposal-Writing Workshop conducted by Daniel Sack, senior program officer from the National Endowment for the Humanities, from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4.

During the half day event, Paul Austin of the Arkansas Humanities Council will also inform participants of state humanities grant opportunities.

The workshop is free and open to the public, and will take place at the University of Arkansas Reynolds Center, in RCED 103, at 145 N. Buchanan in Fayetteville. Parking is available in the Harmon Parking Garage.

The workshop will include an overview of NEH programs and special initiatives, strategies for proposal writing, a mock peer-review panel session, and a question-and-answer period.

Additionally, Sack will be available for a limited number of 20 minute, one-on-one sessions to discuss specific projects. These sessions are available on a first-come, first-served basis, so early registration is highly recommended. A one-page white paper summarizing your project may be submitted in advance for his review to allow more efficient use of time. All white papers should be submitted by Oct. 20 to provide sufficient time for review.
