Before the Arkansas vs. Texas State home football game, two Arkansas Army National Guard UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters flew in formation over Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. The helicopters were piloted by members of the Arkansas National Guard's 77th Combat Aviation Brigade as a part of the Military Appreciation Day celebration.

Each year, the Arkansas Razorback Football team partners with the Air Force and Army Reserve Officer Training Corps units to honor military veterans and their families. At every home game, a veteran is escorted onto the field under a joint Air Force/Army Saber Salute for a special honor.

On Saturday, Sept. 17, the honoree was Adjutant General Mark Berry. With more than 22 years active duty and 20 years with the Air National Guard, Berry served in four combat deployments in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom, Enduring Freedom, and New Dawn.

During the pre-game show on Military Appreciation Day, the ROTC units came together to present the American flag on the field which measured 74 yards in length. The Razorbacks beat the Texas State Bobcats 42-3.
