Telephone Services Transitioning to IT Services

The Telephone Services office, previously a division of Business Affairs, reports to IT Services effective June 1. As part of this transition, Telephone Services will be renamed Communication Systems. Cody Villar is serving as interim team lead following the retirement of Kenneth Leverington.

This change in reporting structure provides better coordination of resources as the university moves toward a modern IT and telephone infrastructure. Combining these services also supports plans to transition to a campuswide Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) system.

The Telephone Services/Communication Systems team is responsible for managing the campus telephone infrastructure, including analog phones, cell phone service, long distance, operator lines, directory service, voicemail and other related services.

During this transition, all telephone-related services, rate schedules, locations and contact information will remain the same, and the Telephone Services/Communication Systems team will continue to provide the same level of support. For information and service requests, the team can be contacted at 479-575-2000 or telsvc@uark.edu.
