FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas ranks in the top 35 among public undergraduate business programs in the 2016 report from Businessweek.

Walton College placed 34th among public schools and 74th in the rankings of public and private business schools. Those were up from 47th among public business schools and 104th among all the top business schools in the previous Businessweek rankings.

“We are thrilled to once again move up in the Businessweek rankings,” said Karen Boston, assistant dean for undergraduate programs. “These rankings are a direct reflection of the quality our students continue to experience in the Walton College.”

Businessweek ranked 114 programs in its 2016 report. It used a school’s rank in four areas to evaluate the business colleges: an employer survey (40 percent); a student survey (35 percent); salaries for graduates (15 percent); and how many students had internships (10 percent).

“We sincerely appreciate the time our students and employers took in responding to the survey questions. Their responses formed the basis for our strong showing in the rankings,” Boston said.

Walton College also improved in the employer rankings, moving from 73rd overall in the previous survey to 60th in the 2016 rankings.
