Interactive Video Puts You Behind the Badge in a High Risk Encounter

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The University of Arkansas Police Department is bringing a national discussion to campus: the use of deadly force by police officers.

UAPD is inviting members of the campus community to take part in an interactive video program that will put them in the position of a police officer encountering a potentially dangerous situation. The video will enable them to experience the situation, respond, learn the consequences, and then discuss what happened, what should have happened, and why.

The sessions will be held from 1-8 p.m. Monday, March 14, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, March 15, and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, March 17 in Futrall Hall, room 157. The interactive experience is limited to four people at a time, and sessions will last for 15 minutes. UAPD officers will be on hand to discuss the encounters and answer questions about the way police handle potentially dangerous encounters.

Observers are welcome.
