Lunchtime Workplace Tips Series

ROGERS, Ark. — Professionals can learn to navigate the future of the workplace by employing tips offered during a lunchtime workshop Tuesday, March 8, by the Global Campus in Rogers.

Participants in the "The New Office: Expectations of Flexibility and Collaboration" class can meet face-to-face from noon to 1 p.m. in Suite 402, 3300 Market St., or learn via online simulcast.

Registration is available online. The cost is $29.

"Workers in today's business place are requesting more flexibility than ever, but how do you decide what will work for your organization?" said Erin Morgan, education support specialist with the Global Campus. "Learn the basics about the benefits, key issues and tools for managing flexible work arrangements so you can best benefit your company and attract the workers you want."

Rick Teague, Principal of TransAmericas Human Resources, LLC, will teach "The New Office: Expectations of Flexibility and Collaboration." Teague is a human resources generalist with bachelor's and master's degrees in business administration. He has 35 years of human resources management experience working with three of Fortune 100's Most Admired Companies: McKesson, Nestle and Raytheon. Rick is also an Adjunct Professor for the University of Arkansas College of Engineering.  He is the certification chair for the Northwest Arkansas chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management (NOARK), and a life member of SHRM.

"As today's businesses seek advantages in the marketplace, work methods and means must be evaluated," said Teague. "In today's business, everyone has smart phones and most use tablet or laptops. The workforce is mobile. The days of the Monday through Friday work schedule and fixed location office are disappearing."

As a result of this class, participants will:

  • Learn about the direction of business requirements, and
  • Explore areas of peer collaboration, speedy actions and flexibility in the scheduling of work.

Participants can earn one recertification hour from the Society for Human Resource Management and the Human Resource Certification Institute.

This class is part of the "Lunchtime Workplace 'Tips' Series" offered by the Global Campus.
