Deadline Feb. 1 for Students to Study in Ireland

Students at the University of Arkansas who want to take part in a two-week, faculty-led study abroad experience in Ireland after the spring semester must apply by Monday, Feb. 1.

Information is available on the Office of Study Abroad & International Exchange website.

The University of Limerick and University College Dublin in Ireland will host the students, who will visit two primary schools. They will work with kindergarten through sixth-grade students and their teachers in different classroom settings.

U of A students will also meet with University of Limerick education students and faculty members to learn about college programs and life experiences in Ireland.

"Additionally, U of A students will participate in several one-hour lectures that provide an overview of Irish culture and history," said Paul Calleja, clinical associate professor of kinesiology. "Throughout the 16-day stay, U of A students will join students from other countries as they tour historical and cultural sites throughout Ireland."
