Cordarius Enright

Senior Cordarius Enright has been selected as the November Student Leader of the Month.

A native of El Dorado, Cordarius came to the University of Arkansas to major in international business with an emphasis in supply chain management. He is currently a peer adviser in the Office of Study Abroad and a member of Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society, Razorback Bridge Scholars, Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals, American Production and Inventory Control Society, Leadership Walton, and National Society of Leadership & Success. Cordarius also works as a student ambassador with the Office of Admissions and serves on the Walton College Dean's Student Advisory Board.

When asked what he thought the most important qualities of a leader are, Cordarius responded, "As an avid leader, I have finally mastered how to lead when it is time, follow when it is time, and listen when it is time. Those are qualities that all leaders should possess. I have also studied abroad twice and learned how to humble myself and realize that, even though I have acquired a plethora of knowledge from a top-tier university, I need to mature and be more open to other's ideas and beliefs despite the fact that I may disagree with them. Basically, be open-minded and embrace diversity!"

Cordarius credits Barbara Lofton, director of the Office of Diversity and Inclusion in the Walton College of Business, as one of the many mentors he has established a connection with during his time at the University. He said, "Dr. Lofton has been the most influential faculty member that I have had the honor to form an academic relationship with on campus. Dr. Lofton has been a professor, academic counselor, guidance counselor, and even a mother figure to me. Her number one priority has always been to provide academic and financial support, resources, and references to aid in her student's success. From her writing me letters of recommendation, to reaching out to her connections to find internships and grants for me, she has supported me fully in all of my academic, professional, and personal endeavors during my tenure at the U of A."

The Student Leader of the Month award, sponsored by New Student & Family Programs, recognizes University of Arkansas undergraduate students for their excellence in leadership through campus involvement, leadership activities, or through volunteer and community service.  More information about the award can be found here.
