The Razorback Marching Band continues its performance season with The Motown Sound, a halftime show honoring the music of The Jackson 5, The Temptations, and Stevie Wonder.

The marching band will perform the show Saturday, Sept. 19, when the Arkansas Razorbacks take on the Texas Tech Red Raiders at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium in Fayetteville.

"The music of Motown taps into the heart beat of America" said Jamal Duncan, assistant director of bands. "Motown artists revolutionized popular music in our country and around the world."

The show will open with a medley of The Jackson 5's "I'll Be There" and The Temptations' "Get Ready." The Jackson 5's "I Want You Back" will be featured in the second tune. The show will close with a medley of Stevie Wonder's hits, "Superstition" and "Uptight." The marching drill was written by Benjamin Lorenzo, associate director of bands. Musical selections were arranged by Michael Klesch and Scott Boerma.

The Razorback Marching Band, part of the Department of Music in the J. William Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences, has more than 350 student members representing every college within the university.
