Join University Recreation Staff for Annual UREC Bash

UREC Bash is a free event and provides an opportunity for students and the university community to tour the HPER facility, learn about club and intramural sports, climb the bouldering wall and take group fitness demos. The event is from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 2, in the Health, Physical Education and Recreation Building.

Participants can try their hand at crate stacking, which will be held in front of the state-of-the-art climbing wall in Gym 1. Drop-in futsal will also be setup for participants to play in Gym 4. There will be food, games, a photo booth and giveaways including the official UREC Bash T-shirt.

"This is my favorite event of the year," said Lindsay Smith, assistant director of marketing and public relations for University Recreation. "It is high energy, high traffic, and so much fun."

Group fitness demos will be held every 30 minutes beginning at 5:30 p.m. in HPER 220. UREC will be demoing some of their new group fitness formats at this event. The schedule is as follows:

  • 5:30-6 p.m.: Insanity
  • 6-6:30 p.m.: U-Jam
  • 6:30-7 p.m.: P90X
  • 7-7:30 p.m.: Group Cycle

For questions about the event, please contact Lindsay Smith at ltlarso@uark.edu or 479-575-2662.
