The 17-member committee appointed by U of A System President Donald Bobbitt met Friday, Aug. 21, at Carnall Hall to review a number of people who could potentially serve as the sixth chancellor of the University of Arkansas.

Jan Greenwood, principal member of the executive search firm Greenwood/Asher, along with Marion Frenche and Eloise Stiglitz, presented information about people representing a diverse cross-section of leaders in higher education, at varying career stages and experiential levels. The people discussed are affiliated with institutions in the United States and abroad and were cultivated from the advertising, nomination or referral, and from Greenwood/Asher's contacts.

The committee discussed the desired characteristics for the next chancellor as well as next steps in the search, which is still in the recruiting phase

"Our judgment will be based upon what they've done in the past and what we think they can do in the future for this institution," committee chairman Howard W. Brill said.
