Choral music at the University of Arkansas is flourishing, and is expanding along with the university. For the 2015-16 academic year, all students, regardless of major, may sing with the Women's Chorus or Men's Chorus without audition, or choose to audition for the Schola Cantorum or Inspirational Chorale.

The Schola Cantorum is one of the premiere collegiate choral ensembles in the country and maintains an active performance and touring schedule. The Inspirational Chorale, nicknamed "Inspire," is one of the only faculty-led collegiate Gospel choirs in the country offered as a for-credit course. The Women's Chorus and Men's Chorus offer opportunites for all singers on campus to participate in a leading choral ensemble, without the need to formally audition.

Performances this year include concerts at the new Faulkner Performing Arts Center and the Walton Arts Center. The choirs will collaborate with world-renown composer, Ola Gjeilo, who will be in residence at the U of A in November. Additionally, the Schola Cantorum will perform eight concerts on tour in Belgium next spring.

Students interested in singing can register for Women's Chorus (MUEN 1591) or the Men's Chorus (MUEN 1411). Schola and Inspire audition sign-up sheets are posted outside MUSC 335. Auditions occur Friday, Aug. 21, and Monday, Aug 24.
