First Students Begin to Move-In Aug. 13, Many More Scheduled to Arrive Aug. 15 and Aug. 17
Hundreds of volunteers are expected to pitch in Monday, Aug. 17 to help move more than 5,600 students into on-campus housing.
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- Thursday, Aug. 13 marks the early arrival of U of A students who will live on the north end of campus. Reid Hall, Maple Hill East and Maple Hill West are open to designated students, including students participating in sorority recruitment and band, at that time. Early move-in will continue Friday, with move-in traffic e directed up Razorback Road to Cleveland Street on both days..
The busiest arrival days will be Saturday, Aug. 15 and Monday, Aug, 17. Unassisted move in takes place Saturday. Assisted move-in will be held on Monday, with hundreds of volunteers on hand to help the new students move their belongings into the residence halls.
Students living on the north end of campus will be directed north on Razorback Road from Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
The north end of campus includes:
- Reid Hall
- Maple Hill West
- Maple Hill South
- Maple Hill East
- Hotz Honors Hall
- Northwest Quad
- Pomfret Hall
Students moving into residence halls in the center of campus will be directed down Garland Avenue from Wedington Drive. to Maple Street, then to Arkansas Avenue and Dickson Street. This is due to construction on Garland Avenuein the vicinity of the Intermodal Transit facility.
Parking Lot Changes
- All residence reserved parking lots will be closed except for student arrivals between 5 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 13 and 5 p.m. Monday,Aug. 17.
- Lots 40 and 41 will be barricaded at 5 p.m. Wednesday.
- Staff spaces in Lot 37 will be unavailable beginning Friday.
- All lots will be returned to normal status at the end of Monday,Aug. 17.
