FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – University of Arkansas Police Department Captain Kathryn Huddler, commander of personnel affairs and special events, recently graduated from the School of Police Staff and Command at Northwestern University. She successfully completed the 22 week online Staff and Command program.

The program, which was started in 1983, has graduated over 14,000 students both nationally and internationally. Captain Huddler was one of 23 students taking the course.

The Center for Public Safety was established at Northwestern University in 1936 with the specific goal of expanding university-based education and training for the Law Enforcement Community.  Since its inception, the center has broadened its original objective and now provides a variety of courses and programs in the area of police training, management training, and executive development.

Captain Huddler has served with the UAPD for 19 years in various capacities, including patrol, Fourth Judicial District Drug Task force, crime prevention, training and career development and accreditation.

She is actively involved in campus activities and is currently serving a term as Chair of the Chancellor's Commission on Women. She is also a volunteer for the U of A Red, White and True campaign, and is secretary/treasurer of the Arkansas Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators.
