The Society of Emerging Global Businesswomen hosted its kickoff event April 16. The event introduced the society to University of Arkansas students and Northwest Arkansas professionals to help recruit members.

Professionals from Walmart, Tyson Foods Inc., Kimberly-Clark, Startup Junkie, First Data and The ARK Challenge shared their experiences of being diverse women in business and what diversity means to them.

The society received applications for membership from every student in attendance and strong support from the professionals, including networking with students.

The Society of Emerging Global Businesswomen is building a diverse community of students and professionals and providing a support system and platform for networking to help emerging global businesswomen reach their potential.
