Presentation Support Lab Can Help Students

The Communication Department would like to remind students of the Presentation Support Lab available to students of all majors. The qualified team of communication teaching assistants in the Presentation Support Lab will guide students in their planning for and delivery of presentations so they will be well prepared for any assignment requiring a presentation.

The lab offers guidance in:

  • Analyzing audiences
  • Selecting appropriate topics
  • Clarifying purpose statements
  • Finding and choosing supporting material
  • Effective use of supporting material
  • Preparing outlines
  • Preparing visual aids
  • Delivery skills
  • Overcoming speech anxiety
  • Students' self-assessment

Staff in the lab are available for:

  • Consultations before presentations
  • 'Dry runs' of presentations (which can be recorded for student self-assessment)
  • Mock interview panel

Students are welcome as walk-ins, but the lab prefers appointments, which can be scheduled at present@uark.edu. The Presentation Support Lab is available to students from 6-8 p.m. every Tuesday and Wednesday in Kimpel Hall, room 405.
