FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The J. William Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences will host several musical performances, an art exhibition, a film, a play and a literature reading this week. Students, faculty, staff and guests are encouraged to attend these events in the visual and performing arts.

Tonight

Breaking Wind, an exhibition by Todd Pentico, will open Friday, April 3, in the Fine Arts Center Gallery with a reception at 5:30 p.m. The exhibit will run until Sunday, April 12. Gallery hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday and 2-5 p.m. Sunday.

Also on Friday, Clayton Clark, Max Thompson and Elian Mota will give readings of their work written in the Program in Creative Writing and Translation at 7 p.m. in Old Main's Giffels Auditorium.

Later that evening, the University of Arkansas Voice Studio will give a recital at 7:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Center's Stella Boyle Smith Concert Hall.

This Weekend

University Theatre Studio Series presents The Chairs by Eugene Ionesco April 3-5, in Kimpel Hall room 404. All shows are at 7:30 p.m. Ticket prices are $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and University of Arkansas faculty and staff and $5 for students with valid student ID. Due to high demand and limited seating, it is strongly recommended that patrons make reservations or purchase tickets in advance. Three recitals will be held Saturday, April 4, in the Stella Boyle Smith Concert Hall. Curtis Simmons will give a French horn recital at 3:30 p. m., Andrew Flory will give a guitar recital at 6 p.m. and Madeleine Hogue will give a violin recital at 8 p.m.

Felipe Antonio will give a guitar recital at 6 p.m. Sunday, April 5, in the Stella Boyle Smith Concert Hall.

Monday

Guest artist William Bennett will give a flute recital at 7:30 p.m. Monday, April 6, in the Stella Boyle Smith Concert Hall.

At the same time, the Percussion Ensemble will give a concert in the Walton Arts Center.

Later in the Week

Nadi Cinema presents Dreams of Hind and Camelia (dir. Muhammad Khan, Egypt 1989) at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 8, in Hembree Auditorium in the Agriculture, Food and Life Sciences building room 107E.

Later that evening, the University of Arkansas Collegiate Chorale will perform at 7:30 p.m. in the Walton Arts Center. Tickets are $5 for public and $1 for students with valid student ID.

The University of Arkansas Tuba and Euphonium Studio will give a recital at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 9, in the Stella Boyle Smith Concert Hall.

Also on Thursday in Stella Boyle Smith, the University of Arkansas Trumpet Ensemble will perform at 8 p.m.

Jennifer Burks will give a voice recital at 6 p.m. Friday, April 10, in the Stella Boyle Smith Concert Hall.

Also on Friday in the Stella Boyle Smith, Amanda Brooks will give a voice recital at 8 p.m.
