Financial Literacy Program for Latino Parents to be Held in Rogers

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Office of Latino Academic Advancement and Community Relations – La Oficina Latina – at the University of Arkansas will host its second financial literacy seminar, aimed at Latino families in Northwest Arkansas. The program will be presented in Spanish and is free and open to as many as 100 Latino parents.

The seminar will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, April 6, in the Rogers Public Library.

The goal is to provide basic financial skills to Latino parents, so they can better understand their finances and the financial system in the United States. Presentations will include: understanding your budget, bank accounts, and savings; the importance of credit and your credit score; and savings, scholarships, and financial aid for college.
