FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – A University of Arkansas search committee is back at work looking at candidates to be the next associate vice chancellor for business affairs. Aaron Burkes had accepted the position, and was due to start on Monday, March 9, however last week he withdrew after being selected by Gov. Asa Hutchinson to serve as president of the Arkansas Development Finance Authority.

Michael White, who has been serving as interim associate vice chancellor for business affairs has agreed to continue in that position.

Mike Johnson, associate vice chancellor for facilities, will continue to chair the search committee, and the appointed members will remain on the committee.

“I appreciate the professionalism shown by the business affairs group during this transition time,” said Tim O’Donnell, interim vice chancellor for finance and administration. “We are disappointed but understand Aaron Burkes’ decision, and wish him well. We are hoping to complete this new search as quickly as possible to fill this very important position.”
