Canadian Professor to Lecture on 'The Hydration Process'

François Péronnet

François Péronnet, a professor emeritus of kinesiology at the University of Montreal, where he taught from 1976 to 2007, will speak on "The Hydration Process: Dynamics of the Body Water Pool" on the University of Arkansas campus.

The lecture will take place at noon Wednesday, March 18, in Room 103 of the Health, Physical Education and Recreation Building.

The lecture is part of the Hydration Lecture Series presented by the Department of Health, Human Performance and Recreation in the College of Education and Health Professions. RSVP is required by emailing to jxa014@uark.edu.

Péronnet's research focuses on the cardiovascular, respiratory and metabolic response to exercise, as well as thermoregulation, water-mineral balance and acid-base balance, the driving force being the bioenergetics of physical activity. He has received the New Investigator Award from the American College of Sports Medicine and the Honorary Award from the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology.
