On Tuesday, March 10, the Department of Animal Science will host the 2015 Paul Noland Graduate Student Award Competition. The competition will begin at 2 p.m. at the Pauline Whitaker Animal Science Center. Professor emeritus Paul Noland joined the Animal Science faculty in 1951 and in 1988 became department head, a position he held until his retirement in 1994. He was mayor of Fayetteville and a member of the city's board of directors.
Created in honor of Noland's 90th birthday, the competition will judge students in three areas: abstract, oral presentation and curriculum vitae. One master's student and one doctoral student will be awarded a travel stipend to apply toward travel to regional/national conventions where they are presenting research. The winners will also be the Outstanding Animal Science M.S. and Ph.D. student.
