Traffic Detour on Razorback Road at Lot 44 Starting Today
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Beginning Monday, March 2, weather permitting, the traffic on Razorback Road, south of Maple Street, will be rerouted for utility work. The southbound traffic will use the northbound lane and the northbound traffic will be routed through the west driveway in lot 44, north of Razorback Stadium. This detour should be necessary for only two days. After this two-day project, a new sewer line will be installed in the west driveway in lot 44. The sewer line project should take about three weeks.
During both of these projects, the driveways on the west end of the student parking section in lot 44 will be closed. Access to these student spaces will be from Maple Street and the central north-south parking lot driveway. There will be no access to the student section of the lot from Razorback Road. The parking spaces at the west end of the rows in the Student section will be designated as no parking areas to allow traffic to travel between driveways. This area is indicated by the yellow and black hashed area on the photo. Vehicles parking in the “no parking area” will be cited and towed to keep the driveways open to allow traffic to flow through the lot.
Parking for vehicles displaced due to the project is available in lot 56, at the northeast corner of Razorback Road and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Lot 56 must be vacated for the men’s basketball game on Saturday, March 7.
This utility relocation project is part of the Razorback Road and Maple Street widening project.
