Graduate Students to Present Research on Martial Arts, Athletic Donors

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – John Malmo and Colin Cork, University of Arkansas doctoral students in recreation and sport management, will present their research from 3-4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27, as part of the Department of Health, Human Performance and Recreation Research Seminar Series.

The seminars take place in Room 316 of the Health, Physical Education and Recreation Building. They are free and open to the public.

Malmo’s talk is titled “Black Belts and High Heels: An Analysis of Gender Representation on Martial Arts Magazine Covers.”

Cork’s talk is titled “A Conceptual Framework for Understanding College Athletic Donor Motivation and Behavior.”

The purpose of the seminar series is to expose students and faculty to research being conducted in the department. Refreshments will be served.
