The bomb threat reported Tuesday was confirmed to be a hoax by a University of Arkansas Police Department investigation.

After the threat, campus notification was sent Tuesday to members of the campus community who have elected to receive timely campus notifications via email. While the threat was not deemed to be credible at that time, campus administrators had a duty to share the information with the public.

“It’s not only transparent, but reminds our public to be vigilant in their activities and act as a community to keep one another safe,” said Melissa Harwood-Rom, dean of students.

UAPD is investigating to positively identify the person who made the phone call. If anyone has information to assist the investigation, please call UAPD at 479-575-2311.
