Doctoral Student Wins Award Second Time in Row
Jennifer Vincenzo, a University of Arkansas doctoral student, has won the Adopt-A-Doc award from the American Physical Therapy Association’s Section on Geriatrics for the second year in a row.
This award is given to one to three people per year to recognize outstanding doctoral students committed to geriatric physical therapy. It provides the recipient with a mentor from the Board of Directors and an award of $2,000 to offset tuition or research costs.
Vincenzo finished her course work last summer and began her dissertation in the fall. She is conducting research with Michelle Gray, assistant professor of exercise science in the College of Education and Health Professions, into older adults’ functional fitness and balance. Vincenzo is a physical therapist and also teaches at NorthWest Arkansas Community College.
