McComas to Address Irish Science Teachers Association

William McComas, the Parks Family Professor of Science Education in the College of Education and Health Professions at the University of Arkansas, has been named to give the opening keynote speech at the Irish Science Teachers Association annual conference March 27 at University College Cork, National University of Ireland.

His speech is titled “Exploring the Biological Themes of the Galapagos Islands: Using the Environment to Teach Science.”

During the spring semester of 2012, McComas was a Fulbright Scholar at Dublin City University, where he had the chance to interact with many colleagues engaged in science teaching and learning in Ireland leading to this invitation. He has been awarded a travel grant from the Alumni Engagement Fund of the Ireland-U.S. Fulbright Commission for Educational Exchange to support his presentation at the conference.
