University Recreation to Host Bollywood Dance
Bollywood Dance reflects a fusion of old and new, tradition and modernism, classical heritage and pop culture. Explore this fun dance style through a class hosted by University Recreation.
Classical Indian dance styles often use movements to reflect and interpret song lyrics. This class will teach the basics of these movements, mixed with a modern hip-hop flair. Students will progress to choreographing a dance in the Bollywood style.
“We are excited to provide this style of dance class as it offers both a cultural and physical experience for the participant,” said Katie Helms, assistant director for University Recreation.
No prior dance experience is necessary, and all levels are welcome.
