Same Building, New Name - Science Building is Now Discovery Hall
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Science Building at the University of Arkansas, opened and named in 1968, has a new name: Discovery Hall.
The decision to change the name was made in November in an effort to avoid confusion with the similarly named Science Engineering Building.
The change became official at the start of the spring semester, and the building’s new name is now displayed on its doors. The name change is also reflected on the U of A’s online Campus Map.
The old building sign will be removed and replaced with a temporary sign next week. A permanent sign will be installed at a later date.
The registrar’s office has also notified students with classes in the building, and changes have been made to the class schedule in ISIS.
It will take additional time to change the reference to the building on printed material and other sources across campus.
