ROGERS, Ark. – Registration is open for a February workshop in Rogers that is designed to help businesses gain a competitive advantage through fostering innovation, intrapreneurship and teamwork within the workplace.

“Inspiring Intrapreneurship: the Competitive Advantage of Running Like a Start-Up” is set for 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, at the University of Arkansas Global Campus in Rogers, 3300 Market St., Suite 402. The cost is $89, but university faculty, staff and students pay $80.10 each. Participants can register online.

The same methodologies used to ensure that start-ups run at the speed of demand can be used to shake up existing organizations and inspire workers to be innovative and team-oriented, according to Max Farrell and Jordan Carlisle, who will teach the workshop.

Farrell and Carlisle founded Create Reason, a company that works to inspire entrepreneurship inside companies. The team has worked in Fortune 100s and start-ups from across the country.

“There's a massive shift underway in how companies collaborate with employees, how execution happens and how innovative concepts come to life,” Farrell said. “The employee/employer relationship is changing drastically, and it is crucial that companies evolve with this changing landscape. Companies will need to develop more intrapreneurial efforts to continue growth, while attracting and retaining talent.”

In this high-energy, one-day workshop, participants will work with professionals to share some of the key methodologies used by start-ups, tactics to get teams to execute quicker and strategies to identify great internal ideas and convert them into action.

“This is an exciting opportunity for Global Campus to partner with the Create Reason team to offer an innovative approach to employee engagement,” said Judith Tavano, director of professional development programs at the Global Campus. “

This workshop and other workforce development programs are listed on the Global Campus Rogers website. For customized training, contact uarogers@uark.edu or 855-402-3300.
