Spring Commuter Meal Plan Contracts Available Now

Off-campus students are now able to contract for commuter meal plans for the spring semester at housing.uark.edu/commutermeals. These meal plans can be used at any of the three dining hall facilities on campus and in all Chartwells-operated campus retail locations.

Three Commuter Meal Plans are available for purchase, including 25, 50, and 80 meal plans. Each plan comes with different amount of Flex dollars, which can be used like cash at any Chartwells retail dining location, such as Starbucks, Quiznos, Slim Chickens, the Union Food Court, and more. Meals can also be exchanged for meal trades at certain times at specific retail locations. More information about meal trades can be found here. The plans, which start at $270 for the semester, can be purchased now and added to a student’s account.  Payment will not be due until January. Commuter Meal Plans can be paid for using financial aid.

Off-campus students are not required to purchase meal plans, however a meal plan can help students save time and money. The ability to eat on campus during the day eliminates the need to leave campus to eat which allows for more efficient time management between classes and saves money off the regular price in campus dining facilities.  Having a meal plan also relieves some stress on budgeting, as the plan and meals will be paid for up front. If a student has not had an off-campus meal plan before, it is recommended to start with the smallest plan. The three Commuter Meal Plans can be repurchased during the semester up until shortly before classes end.
