FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The volunteers in the U of A Everyday Heroes Live United campaign will celebrate their successes – and invite the campus to join in the fun. The party will begin at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21, in the Arkansas Union Connections Lounge.

“At this point we have received almost $140,000 in donations – and the way they have been coming in the last few weeks since the campaign officially ended – I think there is a real chance we will reach our $150,000 goal,” said Kathy Deck, campaign co-chair. “Our website is still live if people want to make donations online. And of course, we’ll still be accepting Hero Cards. In fact if you have one and still want to make a donation – no matter what size -- bring it to the celebration.”

“We set high goals this year, but that was one reason we were so successful,” said co-chair Marty Matlock. “That, and the hard work of all our volunteers. We had better than 40 percent participation, the best in years. We raised more money for the United Way than we have in years. The campaign was called Everyday Heroes and the campus community really stepped up to help the people of Northwest Arkansas. The celebration party will be a chance to say ‘thank you’ to everyone.”

Several units on campus will be recognized for having 75 percent participation or better, and Facilities Management will be honored for the largest amount donated to the campaign by any unit.
