Topology Expert to Give Lecture on Combinatorial Stability
The Mathematical Sciences Colloquia Series hosts Tom Church of Stanford University who will present “Combinatorial Stability and Representation Stability,” at 3:05 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31, in SCEN 407.
Church, who is an assistant professor, will describe how combinatorial stability for statistics of squarefree polynomials and other natural geometric counting problems can be converted to questions of representation stability in topology, and vice versa.
A reception will take place in SCEN 350 at 2:30 p.m.
The event is free and open to the public.
