First Friday Connections Hosted by Chancellor's Commission on Women

The Chancellor’s Commission on Women is hosting “First Friday Connections” from noon to 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7, in the Northwest Quad Dining Hall. This is a wonderful opportunity, open to all faculty, staff and students to network in a comfortable, casual setting. Bring your lunch, along with a few friends and come chat about important issues facing women today, on campus. There’s no formal agenda or presentation, so stop by any time between noon and 1 p.m.

The primary mission of the Commission on Women is to be an advocate for the interest of the entire community of women at the University of Arkansas. To achieve its mission, the commission:

  • Advises and makes recommendations to the chancellor and the provost on issues related to women.
  • Communicates and collaborates with other groups concerned with gender and diversity.
  • Identifies issues critical to the environment of faculty, staff, and student women.
  • Assesses the differential impact of all university policies on women.
  • Proposes initiatives and strategies to ensure a supportive and welcoming environment.
  • Educates the community about women’s issues.
