RESPECT Joins National Day of Action to Stand Against Sexual Violence on Campuses
RESPECT will join students, faculty and staff across the nation today to show support for sexual assault survivors.
Wednesday, Oct. 29, is the National Day of Action. This day is inspired by Emma Sulkowicz, a Columbia University student who was raped in her dorm room by a fellow classmate. Today, she is determined to carry her mattress everywhere she goes on campus until her perpetrator no longer attends Columbia University.
Join RESPECT (Rape Education Services by Peers Encouraging Conscious Thought) outside of Pat Walker Health Center from 10 a.m. to noon to show your support for Sulkowicz and other victims of sexual assault. Stop by and sign your name on a pillow to help ‘Carry the Weight’ that survivors bear alone every day.
