Battery Recycling Available for Chemical Engineering

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas Chemical Engineering Graduate Students, a registered student organization at the University of Arkansas has started the first battery recycling program in the Ralph E. Martin Department of Chemical Engineering.

Two main categories of batteries can be recycled:

  • Non-rechargeable Alkaline and Carbon Zinc batteries
  • Rechargeable batteries with valuable metals (Li, Ni, Fe, etc), including laptop and phone batteries.

Recycling bins are located in the Chemical Engineering Lounge, the Graduate Student Computer room and at the Cato Springs Research Center.

Busch Systems  and Call2recycle are sponsoring this program.
