Walmart Executive Among Diversity Panelists Wednesday

Sharon Orlopp, Walmart global chief diversity officer, will speak on the University of Arkansas campus as part of “Diversity in the Workplace: A Panel Discussion of Industry Professionals” at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15, in the Reynolds Center for Enterprise Development Auditorium.

The George W. Edwards J. Career Development Center in the Sam M. Walton College of Business is hosting the panel, which is part of the University of Arkansas observance of Disability Awareness Month in October.

Students, faculty and staff are invited to learn about the importance of diversity in the workplace within corporate America and the global economy. The event is free and open to the public.

Panelists will discuss the globalization of business and how it is changing the face of the American workforce, emphasizing the importance of effective leadership in managing diversity in the workplace. The presenters will also provide various ways in which they recognize and value different perspectives and talents that are vital to an organization’s survival and growth.
