Trent Fuenmayor of the Irene Gleeson Foundation is speaking about sustainable egg farm practices in Uganda.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Trent Fuenmayor, the development manager and assistant director for the Irene Gleeson Foundation in Kitgum, Uganda, is a guest speaker this week for the Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences at the University of Arkansas.

Fuenmayor is speaking at 3 p.m. on Wednesday in Room 332 of the Agriculture Building. The event is open to all students, faculty and staff, as well as the general public.

Fuenmayor is discussing efforts by the Irene Gleeson Foundation to develop a sustainable egg farm in northern Uganda. His focus is on the sustainable model the farm follows and how it provides eggs for students at IGF’s primary schools.

The lecture also includes discussing opportunities for students, in agriculture-related majors as well as other areas, to get involved in service-learning internships in east Africa. Fuenmayor began his career as an intern while a student at Princeton University.

After graduating from Princeton, Fuenmayor spent a year with the Anglican Diocese in Rwanda before joining the IGF.
