The department of University Recreation and the Outdoor Connection Center will be offering time for university faculty and staff to climb the new climbing wall located in HPER Gym 1.

The faculty/staff climb will be held every Friday from 1-2 p.m. Oct. 3 through Dec. 12. This program offers faculty and staff the opportunity to take advantage of the climbing wall without the large number of student users found during normal operating hours.

“The program is simply another way that University Recreation continues to reach out to specific user groups around the campus community,” said Mike Hoover, assistant director of the outdoor connection center. “Furthermore, it will provide a great opportunity for faculty and staff to learn more about climbing, belaying, and just spending time being active.”

The faculty/staff climb is open to anyone with a UREC membership, or guest pass ($5 per day). Participants do not need to have climbing experience to participate. TheOutdoor Connection Center will provide climbing harnesses, shoes, and staff for this program.
