Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers to Welcome Students Back to Campus
The University of Arkansas Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, a student-directed organization, will welcome students back to campus with a Welcome Picnic at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 13.
Since 2002, the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers UA has been dedicated to the professional and academic development of our Hispanic community.SHPE changes lives by empowering the Hispanic community to realize their fullest potential and impacts the world through STEM awareness, access, support and development.
The concept of Networking is the key basis for the organization. SHPE at the University of Arkansas is a nationally recognized student chapter that has made significant contributions to the Hispanic community in Northwest Arkansas. The chapter has established three SHPE Jr. chapters in different high schools in the area to begin the network that would grow to encompass the nation as well as reach countries outside the United States. Today, SHPE enjoys a strong but independent network of professional and student chapters throughout the nation.
All students are welcome to attend the event.
