Students are invited to consider joining group therapy at the Pat Walker Health Center. Fall Groups through Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) are forming now and will begin within the first few weeks of the semester.

Group topics include women helping women, anxiety, meditation, relationships, eating recovery, LGBTQ support, bipolar support, sexual wellness, first-generation college students, non-traditional students and more.

Group therapy is the primary option for service at CAPS and has been shown to help students overcome depression, anxiety, self-injury and suicidal thoughts. Participating in just one session of group therapy reduced students’ concerns about attending group therapy significantly.

Group therapy is funded through the student health fee, so there is no out-of-pocket cost for students to attend. Interested students should call CAPS at 479-575-5276 and ask about joining a group. For more information and descriptions of the groups available, visit health.uark.edu/355.

The CAPS office is housed on the second floor of the Pat Walker Health Center, located at the corner of Maple and Garland, and is open Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
