TFSC Welcomes New Co-Director
The Teaching and Faculty Support Center is pleased to welcome new co-director, professor Mark Boyer, chair of the Department of Landscape Architecture in the Fay Jones School of Architecture. Boyer steps into the position vacated by Paul Cronan who completed his term with the center in August.
Boyer joined the School of Architecture faculty in 1998. As a professor and co-director of the Wally Cordes Teaching and Faculty Support Center at the University of Arkansas, Boyer teaches courses on landscape architecture construction materials and technologies, ecological design studios, and an interdisciplinary course related to alternative stormwater management techniques. In 2001, Mark was the recipient of the Council of Educators in Landscape Architecture Award of Recognition, and has also been selected to receive the department faculty teaching award. He served as interim associate dean of the Fay Jones School of Architecture from May 2013 through June 2014.
Boyer’s research focuses on green roofs and other sustainable stormwater management technologies. He earned an undergraduate degree in landscape architecture at the University of Kentucky, and followed two years of practice with a graduate degree in landscape architecture at Louisiana State University.
