If you are passionate about making positive change on campus, I encourage you to apply, ” said Ray Todd, ASG chair of Senate.

Available applications with associated deadlines are as follows:

Senate Applications: Deadline noon on Sept. 3

Vacant seats in ASG Senate are filled with a fall at-large election. Students do not run by college of enrollment; instead, all students vote for all candidates that appear on one ballot. Applications are open to all University of Arkansas students who meet co-curricular requirements. Senate vacancy applications are due by noon on Wednesday, Sept. 3.

Any questions in regards to Senate duties should be sent to Chair of Senate Ray Todd at asgsen@uark.edu. Questions about the election and process should be sent to Chief Justice Ranger Guillory at asgjcj@uark.edu.

Graduate Student Congress Applications: Deadline noon on Sept. 3

This will be the inaugural year of the ASG Graduate Student Congress. This new legislative body will represent and advocate for graduate students at the university. GSC will serve as the liaison between the U of A’s nearly 4,000 graduate students, which now constitute nearly 16 percent of the overall enrollment at the university. Graduate students will be able to voice their ideas about improving graduate-student education and well being to their GSC representatives. This election will fill vacant at-large seats within the GSC.

Any questions about the election and process should be sent to Chief Justice Ranger Guillory at asgjcj@uark.edu.  For questions about Graduate Student Congress duties, email acting-Speaker, Alex Marino at ajmarino@uark.edu.

Fall 2014 ASG Senate and GSC vacancy at-large elections will be conducted Sept. 9 – 11.  Unofficial election results will be emailed and posted on the ASG website by 10 p.m. on Sept. 11.
