Williams Street Closing Friday for Start of Pedestrian Bridge Construction

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Williams Street, between Harmon and Duncan Avenues will be closed for most of Friday, July 25, while construction crews install a pre-cast core slab for a new pedestrian bridge at the fourth level north side entrance to Harmon Avenue Parking Garage. Work will begin at 6:30 a.m. and the street should be re-opened by 3 p.m.

The fourth level of the parking garage will also be closed during this time.

The sidewalk along the south side of Williams Street, from Duncan to just west of the fourth level entrance will be closed to pedestrian traffic. The sidewalk will be removed and replaced at new elevation to accommodate the new Pedestrian Bridges at the second and fourth levels. The crosswalks on Williams Street will be relocated.
